Welcome to our 8th annual Christmas Roundtable! 2023 has seen the world start to change and go back to normal for people around the world. BareBones Ent sat down with a bunch of bands and musicians to talk about Christmas and hopefully spread some cheer. We had so many entries so we are breaking this in to 2 parts this year! Here’s looking forward to 2024 and more amazing music!
BBE: What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?
AR: Some of the best things we enjoy are family gatherings, snowboarding with a few of the band members, and of course, drinking hot chocolate.
BBE: What is the best holiday memory you have?
AR: As a band we enjoy giving each other gifts each year. Previously there have been some unique and funny gifts including; a bat encased in resin, a cowbell for our drummer and other fun things such as vinyl records.
BBE: What is your favorite Christmas movie?
AR: A Christmas Story
BBE: If you could be any holiday character who would it be and why?
AR: Santa Claus – We would be able to gift all of the necessary audio equipment and plug-ins free of charge to our hearts content.
BBE: What is your favorite Christmas song?
Anson (Bassist): I enjoy a lot of the Christmas Classics, Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra, etc. they have a great relaxing and nostalgic vibe to watch the snow fall to.

BBE: What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?
TSE: Snow. It’s for sure a love-hate thing as you grow older, but there is a natural beauty to snow that other aspects of nature don’t capture in my opinion. Definitely sets the mood for the holidays.
BBE: What is the best holiday memory you have?
TSE: Just the general anticipation I had for the holidays growing up. Something about waking up Christmas morning as a kid, or going to bed pumped up on Christmas Eve leaves a pleasant memory.
BBE: What is your favorite Christmas movie?
TSE: Probably A Christmas Story. Cliche but hey… you’ll shoot your eye out!
BBE: If you could be any holiday character who would it be and why?
TSE: Rudolph… Flying around with a colorful red nose would be exciting.
BBE: What is your favorite Christmas song?
TSE: “Silent Night”. Really a beautiful tune in my opinion.

Rahway (Tim “Chigger” Louie) (Facebook/Insta)
BBE: What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?
Rahway: I love the days off from work, spending time with family and watching my girls open their presents.
BBE: What is the best holiday memory you have?
Rahway: I would have to say the best holiday memory for me to date was finding out I was going to be a father back in 2018! That was pretty amazing! Nothing will ever top that!
BBE: What is your favorite Christmas movie?
Rahway: Isn’t everyone’s A Christmas Story? If it’s not, something has to be wrong with you! Hahaha!
BBE: If you could be any holiday character who would it be and why?
Rahway: Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer! He was the leader of the pack. He was different from everyone else. And he was the coolest reindeer.
BBE: What is your favorite Christmas song?
Rahway: “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” was a nice dirty little song, but always reminds me of Christmas.
BBE: What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?
MR: Being lazy. Sometimes traveling to a warmer place. And no work! So lovely.
BBE: What is the best holiday memory you have?
MR: My childhood days were spent going to visit my grandpa in Southern California, and I quite enjoyed getting lost in all the theme parks in the area, always sneaking into the adult rides because I was quite tall for my age. I felt untouchable! haha
BBE: What is your favorite Christmas movie?
MR: Believe it or not, I have a tradition of watching Tarantino or similar films around this time. I kinda love the juxtaposition of the holiday with the violent images.
BBE: If you could be any holiday character who would it be and why?
MR: A female version of Krampus. He was quite metal and he punished the bad kids! Malo malo.
BBE: What is your favorite Christmas song?
MR: I would say I have a tie between King Diamond’s “No Presents for Christmas” (I may have sung this once at a karaoke party) and The Ramones’ “Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight Tonight).” The funny thing is, I sang this one in front of a former employer’s entire staff during the pandemic, winning $200 bucks! Not bad, eh?
GEARS (Jimmy Wooten) (Facebook/Insta)
BBE: What is your favorite thing about the holiday season?
GEARS: It’s really the only time of year where everything in the music industry sort of slows down enough to really spend some time with family with minimal distractions.
BBE: What is the best holiday memory you have?
GEARS: There’s not really a singular “best” memory. Any time that I’ve gotten to spend time with family and friends during the holidays is equally amazing for me.
BBE: What is your favorite Christmas movie?
GEARS: Tie between “A Christmas Story” because that’s something my family has been watching together for many years and “National Lampoons Christmas Vacation” because it’s just so ridiculous and fun.
BBE: If you could be any holiday character who would it be and why?
GEARS: John McClane from “Die Hard” because he is an absolute badass AND “Die Hard” IS most definitely a Christmas movie.
