Idobi Radio Summer School Tour 2025 Review

BareBones Ent got the chance to check out the 2025 Idobi Radio Summer School Tour when they ran through Dallas at the House of Blues. This year’s tour featured Huddy, Beauty School Dropout, If Not For Me, Arrows In Action, Rain City Drive, Taylor Acorn, and Charlotte Sands. There are only a few more stops on this tour, so is it worth snagging a ticket? Walk with us as we break down this show.

We got to the show just a little late from finding parking, so we did not have to deal with a line this year. We walked up to the box office to grab our passes, and boy did the tour treat us great! We got guest passes, photo passes, and a VIP balcony suite pass (never had one of those before). Thank you to the team over at Idobi Radio Summer School Tour for giving us an awesome experience. I brought my 15 year old for his first ever show like this, and he was able to see a little bit of what I do. Anyways on to the show.

Huddy

We got in about a few songs into Huddy’s set. He had a good amount of energy and was getting the crowd involved in the set. He was getting some good responses from members of the crowd and seemed to enjoy that and continue to up the energy of his performance.

While the performance wasn’t really my thing there were people in the crowd that really enjoyed it.

Beauty School Dropout

After Huddy was Beauty School Dropout that came storming to the stage. This band was firing on all cylinders from the jump. They put on a very fun and chaotic show. The crowd was really moving and getting into the set. I think something that really jumped out to me was how much stage presence the band had. They were moving all over that stage and interacting with the crowd. To me this really helps with bringing everyone together and making us feel like we are part of the show too.

That leads to us really becoming part of the show as bassist Beepus jumped down into the crowd and started moshing with the fans. The crowd went crazy for this and just put the cherry on top of this awesome set! I definitely left wanting to check out much more from Beauty School Dropouts.

If Not For Me

The hits don’t stop coming as the next band up was If Not For Me. This band came out with the same force as Beauty School Dropouts, and the audience was hooked. This was another band that knew how to work the stage and made for such a fun show to watch. Which you may be able to see is a theme for the night. This crowd was hot for this show.

If Not For Me came with hard-hitting instrumentals and crisp, intense vocals. I was not familiar with this band coming into the show but left a fan.

Arrows In Action

When you hit the stage to the Space Jam theme with inflatable basketballs; you got me hook, line, and sinker. This was such a cool and fun way for the band to come out, and the I wasn’t alone the whole crowd ate it up. Also killer matching track suits. One thing that will always stand out to me during a show is if they band is having fun and looks like they are having a good time. Arrows In Action looked like they were having the time of their lives and the crowd could feel it.

There was a moment in the show that they slipped into “Breaking Free” from High School Musical in what seemed like the middle of one of their songs. There was a couple off to the side in front of me, and they lost it! They broke out in a full routine for this song, and it was fun to see. Everything sounded great and all the fun going on onstage just upped the performance even more!

Rain City Drive

After Arrows In Action we decided to check out the VIP suite and watch the next set from up there. After some flights of stairs, we made it to the balcony and hung out until Rain City Drive came out. This seemed like a much chiller set from what we could see on stage. We couldn’t extensively see what was going on in the pit and how people were responding to the music. They sounded ok, but I don’t really think it was my thing.

The vocals sounded good so maybe it was the vibe shift from the rest of the night that threw me off. I’d be interested in checking them out again though.

Taylor Acorn

We made our way back down to the pit to catch the last 2 artists of the night. Taylor Acorn was someone I was very excited to see, as I have been following her for a long time but hadn’t had a chance to see her yet. She had played at, at least one festival I worked but I was doing an interview when she played so I missed it. She came out and smashed it. Her performance did not disappoint. She was running back and forth across the stage and interacting with the crowd. Vocally she sounded awesome and her band sounded good.

She had a great setlist and played a good number of the songs I was hoping to hear. If you have not had a chance to catch Taylor Acorn yet I would definitely recommend catching one of her shows.

Charlotte Sands

The crowd came unglued when Charlotte hit the stage. There was a ton of chanting and cheering when she came out. One thing that really stood out to me and made this seem like a special show was that Charlotte was beaming this entire set. She looked so happy on stage and was just sharing that extremely positive vibe and energy with the crowd. She put on an amazing set full of hits and new songs.

The venue was pretty hot, but she did not slow down. She danced across the stage for her entire set and sounded great. She definitely sent the crowd home happy and had a massive line at her merch table after the show.

Thank you to the Summer School Tour for having us out again this year. We had a great time at the show and saw some awesome bands. Also, may I mention that the fan on stage was a paid actor for this show with blowing all the musician’s hair back making things look more epic. This tour has really become such a cool showcase of some bigger names in the scene and bands getting their name out there more. There is still a little time left on this tour, so I would recommend grabbing up a ticket for one of the remaining shows!
