Q and A with Allbrook Station

Allbrook Station is a pop rock band out of Salt Lake City that has been picking up a lot of steam. The band has been keeping busy working on their upcoming 2026 album, All We Have Is Pain. BareBones Ent got the chance to sit down with songwriters Burke Louis (lead singer) and Jessie Gomez (bassist). Sit down and check out what all the band had to say when we connected with them.

BBE: What do you think it is about Allbrook Station that makes it special?
Jessie: The special thing about Allbrook Station is there’s always something to connect to. We have such different backgrounds and life stories to draw from, and it shows in our music and our live show. When you meet us, hear us, or see us, we hope you feel that connection.

BBE: What is the scene like in Salt Lake City? Do you feel that has helped the growth of the band or have you had to step out of that more?
Burke: I grew up in SoCal and have only lived in UT for 6 years. So I’m actually not too familiar with the music scene here. I mean for sure, there are bands here that we know personally and support as friends and artists, but the scene in Utah is pretty diverse. Everything from folk indie acoustic singer songwriter stuff to EDM to metal. We are pretty unique sonically and don’t sound like anyone else, especially here in UT.

BBE: You recently released a new song, “Sharpshooter”, which is such a good song. What was the creation process for that song like?
Jessie: This song, unlike all the others, went through drastic changes. “Sharpshooter” started as a Billy Joel inspired piano idea on my phone that turned into a 2000s pop punk song, that drifted into a Chainsmokers style pop anthem, and back. Eventually, we found a happier medium and added some of Nate’s drum magic on top, and boom – we had it.

BBE: Did that follow your typical process or how did it differ?
Jessie: Creating “Sharpshooter” was a unique journey. The song, at its core, came to us pretty quick, but when it came to the music of it, it took some time to understand the difference between what the song could be and what it should be. I’m just glad we went through all of its interpretations because they all helped make the final product what it is today!

BBE: When working on a song or having released it, at what point do you know you have something special on your hands? Or what signs do you look for?
Jessie: A part of me likes to believe that it all depends on how the song makes you feel and how strongly you feel it. We often share song ideas, and before we choose a song to work on, it has to pass the test: did we feel something? If the answer is yes, then we know it has legs, can potentially go far, and that we have what it takes to make it happen.

BBE: How have fans reacted to the song?
Burke: The response has been great. It is a bit of a departure from the first two singles, so I was curious how they would take it, and so far it’s introduced us to a new wave of fans that hadn’t heard us before. So it’s been great.

BBE: Now this is the part of a larger release. Are you able to share any information on the new album?
Burke: Jessie and I wrote over 50 songs for this first album, and we were able to whittle it down to our favorite 17 songs. We tried to get it down to 12, but we figured, “why not?” We were able to record some orchestral work for the album at East West Studios, and our next single, “Crown”, is the first single that will feature all those live strings, brass, etc.

BBE: Are fans able to expect songs similar in style, or will there be more of a mix?
Burke: Fans can expect an exciting mix of tracks that thematically blend perfectly. Each song is a 3 minute journey of epic storytelling. We wrote each song as if it was being played to 80,000 people, so there’s urgency, there’s pain, there’s triumph… each song is a banger. I kid you not.

BBE: Have any new songs made it into your live show?
Jessie: Actually, the true question is what songs don’t make it into the show! Our job is to entertain, and our songs are so fun that it’s hard to leave any out. It comes down to where we are, what we’re doing, and whether we want to slow things down or keep the energy high. That’s when we remove a slow song or add more killer, no-filler tracks. It’s tough though – we’re hurting every time we take one out.

BBE: For someone that hasn’t seen you before, what advice would you give them to prepare them for coming out to an Allbrook Station show?
Burke: August 26 at Soundwell SLC will be our debut show as Allbrook Station. Expect to sing; you’re a part of the band now. We made sure our shows are inclusive, rhythmic, and dynamic. We’ve spent the last six months perfecting our show and making sure we can pull off exactly what you love about our records.
Jessie: Be ready to have fun. When we hit the stage, we’re 1,000% ready to enjoy ourselves. It’s the best feeling in the world to look into the crowd and see the energy coming right back at us!

BBE: What is going through your mind before hitting the stage?
Burke: I don’t get nervous about anything I can’t control. I take a deep breath and trust in my preparation, my work ethic, my team, my band, my equipment, and then I just go out there and perform as if I’m in front of all 80,000 people I envisioned when writing these songs. I love performing, so I just get mad excited to get out there and start singing.
Jessie: Everything is going through my mind right before hitting the stage, and it doesn’t stop until one moment – when I hear the voice saying, “Hey, get ready to go out and have fun.” At the end of the day, that’s what matters. People aren’t there just to hear the music; they came to experience YOU. The sooner I get out of my head and ready to have fun, the sooner the magic happens.

BBE: What is the best way for fans to stay up-to-date on your upcoming shows and album?
Burke: We are Allbrook Station across all social media platforms, and our website is Allbrookstation.com, where you’ll find merch and tour updates as well as announcements.

BBE: Anything else you would like to add?
Jessie: Absolutely – time is running out for you to be considered a day one fan of Allbrook Station. Follow us everywhere! Instagram, TikTok, you name it, we’re there! This is a fast-moving train, and we want you to join the ride!
Burke: We just want to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to share our music and talk about what we are passionate about on your platform.
