Sound&Shape is a rock n roll band out of Nashville, TN. This band has been hard at work on creating their latest album. They just recently released a new single off of the album, and are itching to get music out to fans. Check out what Sound&Shape had to say when they sat down with BareBones.

BS: How would you best describe your band for potential listeners?
S&S: I usually just say Rock N Roll, but sub genres are such a prevalent thing now that that can make a lot of people scratch their heads. Our stuff runs across the spectrum of most rock stuff I’d say, leaning a little heavy sometimes, a little atmospheric sometimes, but always melodic.
BS: What is something about your band that fans might not know?
S&S: We probably party less than any other rock band.
BS: 2020 has been a very odd year. What would a typically year look like for your band?
S&S: Usually we spend a decent portion of the year on the road, and lots and lots of rehearsing.
BS: How big of a transition has this been for you?
S&S: It’s been pretty huge to be honest. We had a lot of touring planned for the year. The original plan was to finish the album before we hit the road in April and have it out around now, after doing a summer tour and then having something ready to go for the fall. Obviously all of that changed drastically.
BS: Do you feel with out making your album and touring in the same year is helping with the development, or do you think it would be the same either way?
S&S: I think the way we made this record, a lot more spread out and taking a lot more time, was one of the positives to come out of this year. The album won’t be out until next year anyway and hopefully by then some touring will be able to take place. As for if it helps or hurts, I really can’t predict.
BS: What made you choose “All Day Morning” as the first single to release?
S&S: I think it’s a good transition between the last couple singles and the upcoming record. It’s almost archetypal for us in a way.

BS: What does it feel like leading up to the final days before the release of a new song? Are there any nerves there?
S&S: Not really nerves, just a general hope that people will hear it and those that do will like it. This song is slightly topical, which I don’t generally write, so I’m interested to see the reaction.
BS: Are you able to say when the next single will come out?
S&S: Yup! It’ll be out towards the end of next month.
BS: Is the tracklist set for the album or are there still possibilities of changes at this point?
S&S: It’s set for the most part. I think I wrote 18 or 19 songs for the album, we demoed 16 and then tracked 10 for the album so the record is pretty much set at 10 songs.
BS: What info can you release on this upcoming album?
S&S: There honestly isn’t too much at the moment other than it’s all tracked and we’re in the mixing stage. It’s sounding amazing so far.
BS: Have you begun setting goals or plans for 2021?
S&S: The goal right now is to get the record out, but how and when are big question marks. As far as touring goes, we’ll be the first ones in the van when we get the go ahead.
BS: What is the best way for fans to reach out to you?
S&S: Any of these fine links:

www.instagram.com/soundandshape
www.twitter.com/soundandshape
www.soundandshape.net
BS: Anything else you would like to add?
S&S: Just that we hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and please remember to get out and vote. This is the most important election any of us will see in our lifetimes.
