Hard rock band, Lydia Can’t Breathe, just started a brand-new tour and are ready to play some new music for fans. BareBones Ent got the chance to talk with the band about quarantine, “Sick Now”, and much more. Take a walk with us, but keep your distance, and see what all was said when Kyle sat down with BareBones Ent!

BBE: Your band has a great hard rock sound. Is this always the type of music that you wanted to make or did your sound develop over time?
Kyle: No, we actually started off being progressive heavy metal. And over time evolved other styles and musical talents that we’ve added to the new sound. We strive to get better with every release!
BBE: Is this the type of music that you typically enjoy also?
Kyle: I personally listen to everything except country. I enjoy heavy metal and rock the most but also like classical , jazz ,and everything in between.
BBE: Unfortunately, we are still going through a pandemic, which has seen positives and negatives on people’s creativity. How do you think the pandemic and quarantining effected you creatively?
Kyle: It gave us a lot of time to reflect on our music and writing better material. I personally needed the time for my own thoughts. As well as it made us reflect on our lives. It definitely inspired a few song ideas as well.
BBE: Did you pick up any new hobbies while quarantining?
Kyle: I just worked on my home studio and tracking myself. I Also started learning more about drum programming and production.
BBE: While quarantining you actually wrote your recent single, “Sick Now”. How did the song come together?
Kyle: Shad wrote the music and sent it to our song Dropbox because We all had covid at the time and we couldn’t meet up for practice or even to write together in person. I was actually feeling terrible the day I wrote the lyrics and tracked it . I couldn’t stop thinking about how I felt and that everyone everywhere around the world was probably sick in some manner as well. I did the spoken word part at the beginning because I wasn’t feeling to energetic at the time and the vibe of the song was kinda creepy to me. I felt like everyone could relate to the content of the song so I just kept going. Then we brought it to Andre Wade and Andy Karpovick and they helped bring the idea to life!
BBE: How hard was it to create the song as a band when you could not be together?
Kyle: It was actually easy we usually write separate and present the songs at practice. Then we all put our little touch on it if we decide to play it .
BBE: What has the reaction been like to the song?
Kyle: Great! People have been telling me they love the direction of the new music and that this song and video is one of the best songs we’ve dropped.
BBE: Is this solely a single or is it going to be part of a larger release?
Kyle: We are considering dropping a full-length album sometime next year, but might just stick with dropping singles . Only time will tell.
BBE: You also announced a tour. How excited are you to be hitting the road again?
Kyle: Super excited to get back out there. We had to drop off of shows and cancel a lot last year and it gets super disappointing.
BBE: What is it going to mean to you to be back on that stage in front of fans?
Kyle: Its why we do this . It’s going to be epic can’t wait to mingle with everyone and feel the energy of screaming fans!
BBE: Can you give us a quick feeling of what you think will be going through your mind before hitting the stage the first time on this tour?
Kyle: A little worried. Are my batteries in my in-ear monitor charged enough to last the whole show?
BBE: What is the best way for fans to keep up to date with tour dates and other news?
Kyle: https://lydiacantbreathe.com/ and all social networks!
BBE: Anything else you would like to add?
Kyle: Everyone go check out our tour dates with City Of The Weak coming up soon! At the website link above and bring us some weed, lemon water and PB and jelly sandwich’s and let’s get all sorts of crazy!!
