Outatime, a pop punk band out of Florida, has been steadily growing their following and making their name in pop punk. A part of a very strong group of pop punk bands on Revival Records, Outatime is poised to take the world by storm. BareBones Ent got the chance to sit down with the band and get to know them a little better. Check out what all we had to say.

BBE: What do you feel it is about Outatime that makes your band stand out?
Tony Medina: I think when you listen to the No Boundaries record, it takes you back to that first time listening to a pop punk song.
Mike: I think our nostalgic sound and how we are as friends sets us apart.
Tony Murphy: probably the fact that we have 3 Tony’s in the band! Jk I’d say Mikes voice is what really defines Outatime’s sound
BBE: How would you best describe your music to new listeners?
Tony Alicea: A trip down memory lane
Tony Medina: “Did ya play THPS? Love that soundtrack?! Listen to this!”
Mike: Fun, catchy and energetic!
Tony Murphy: High energy, in your face pop punk.
BBE: Let’s take it back to Warped. You’re walking the line phone in hand. What song are you playing for people to get them to check out your band?
Tony Alicea: “False Start” or “Ghosted”
Justin: I’m always a sucker for “Can You Not?” since it was the first song Mike and I wrote for the band, but probably “Goner” or “Lost Boys” depending on the people I’m chatting with!
Tony Medina: This is a good one, at this moment “No Boundaries” or “Ever Been In A Storm Wally?”
Mike: I’d have to share “False Start”! It’s one of my favorites and I feel like it catches your attention right away.
Tony Murphy: “False Start” or “Lost Boys” for sure!
BBE: Late Spring last year, you released your debut album, No Boundaries, what was the creation of that album like for you?
Tony Alicea: It was a pleasant learning experience. I basically said to Dylan our producer: “hey you know Blink’s Take Off Your Pants And Jacket? Yeah, let’s do that on drums. I felt that the drum sound from that record was the quintessential pop punk drum sound, which is what I was trying to emulate.
Justin: Pretty cathartic honestly. We had just come back home after cancelling a majority of our tour, while on the road, at the start of the Pandemic. We had been sitting on 7-8 songs and decided to hit the studio. We definitely spent our time to try and work out a central message that we wanted to deliver. I still can’t believe it’s been out for almost a year at this point.
Mike: It was a labor of love, that’s for sure. We put a lot of heart into this album, especially lyrically. The end product is something I’m very proud to be a part of.
BBE: A debut has to be so special. Can you take us back and tell us what was going through your heads waiting to see those first fan reactions?
Mike: Personally, I was just excited to share what we had worked so hard on with everyone.
BBE: With it having been out for a bit now. Have you already been working on new music?
Justin: Yeah! We actually have about 4-5 songs in the hopper right now including a new cover we are waiting to drop!
Tony Medina: Yep, as Justin mentioned, we have a few songs in the works and a new cover which is really rad!
Mike: We’re always writing! Can’t wait to play some new jams live.
BBE: Anything you can share about it with us?
Tony Alicea: Expect energy, energy and more energy.
Justin: We are pretty excited to release this new cover! It’s probably our favorite and we started to play it live. All I can say is that it’s definitely about Dave Coulier!
Tony Medina: It’s going to be a bit different, since adding Murphy and myself to the lineup. Just excited for people to hear it.
Mike: Having new minds in this writing process is definitely a plus. I’d say just get excited for the evolution of OT!
BBE: What is next for you guys?
Justin: Touring, recording LP2, and more touring!
Tony Medina: Writing, touring! Lots of shows for 2023!
Mike: Writing, touring, gigging and making new friends.
BBE: What would you say it’s like to be at a Outatime show?
Tony Alicea: It’s like showing up to your friends bday party and they rented a bounce house. You know you’re gonna have fun.
Tony Medina: Nostalgic, head bopping fun!
Mike: Fun, energetic and inclusive.
BBE: What is the best way for fans to stay up to date and connect with you?
Justin: We are pretty active on TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter! All of our handles are @Outatimefl and any song/tour/show announcements will be on those platforms before anything else!
BBE: Anything else you would like to add?
Tony Alicea: Look the president of hotdogs and sandwiches or whatever went on record saying that a hotdog is NOT a sandwich and that it’s in a category on its own.
Tony Medina: A hotdog is not a sandwich!
Justin: Don’t let anyone tell you that a hotdog is not a sandwich, because it is.
Mike: I’m sorry that the hotdog as a sandwich conversation keeps coming up. Listen to No Boundaries!
