Q and A with Lost Hearts

Lost Hearts, a rock band out of Nashville, has hit the ground running after the release of their debut single “Hate Yourself”. This band came together with a unique makeup that has fit together perfectly [more on that later]. Take a walk with us below and check out what all Lost Hearts had to say when they talked with BareBones Ent.

BBE: How would you best describe your music to potential listeners?

LH: Our music has been described as Punk rock Attitude with a Pop Rock chorus!  I think that description is accurate, we do our best to bring our hard rock influences into the modern age.

BBE: What do you think it is about Lost Hearts that makes your band special to fans?

LH: We try our best to make music that people can relate to and listen to easily. We are all lead guitarists and we all really enjoy writing complicated songs that are challenging to play! But we know that the only people that relate to that and want to hear that is us!

BBE: And what makes Lost Hearts special to you?

LH: Lost Hearts is the first original band project I’ve been a part of. It came together so naturally and unexpectedly. Victor, JT and I were three lead guitarists that were friends. Most bands don’t need three guitarists! But we had song ideas that we really liked. We decided to just go with it and to pick who would sing and who would play bass. We found our Mitch, our drummer who also happened to be a lead guitarist! It makes our sessions together super interesting! Lost Hearts is a band in which I feel like I can be myself fully!

BBE: You guys have a great sound and mixture of classic rock while staying modern. Is that the type of music you always wanted to make?

LH: It definitely is!  We love rock and pop of all eras from the 1950s to now.  But we don’t think it serves anyone to rehash the same old sounding music. We hope we are bringing the best of the past with a taste of the future in our music!

BBE: Now I love some classic rock and 80s rock. Lay some influences on me.

LH: One thing that all four of us have in common, is that we are all HUGE KISS fans! Beyond that, we have very diverse influences that we think really influence our sound. We love INXS, Ratt, Mötley Crüe, The Doors, Duran Duran, Jefferson Airplane, Alice In Chains, Prince, the list goes on and on!  We truly love all eras of music!

BBE: You have a new single, “Hate Yourself” that recently was released. How did that song come together?

LH: Hate Yourself has been described as Punk Rock attitude with a Pop Rock chorus. It was written very naturally on an acoustic guitar. We actually wrote the main part in 5 minutes.  The words and melody came to us almost instantly! We brought the song to our producer, Johnny K, and from there it took on a life of it’s own!

BBE: What message are you hoping fans pull from it?

LH: The song is about a toxic relationship that you can’t get out of. This is a situation we think most people have been in at some point in their lives. We hope people can relate to this feeling and take away that they’re not the only ones who have gone through something like this, and its okay to feel this way.

BBE: Take me to the moments before you release your debut single. What was going through your head, or had been leading up to the release?

LH: It has been very interesting for me personally. I would be lying if I said there hasn’t been some anxiety.  This is our first single and we have no idea how people will react. But overall I’m excited to get out there and hear people’s feedback. We will definitely listen to that feedback so we can improve from here!

BBE: How have fans responded to the “Hate Yourself”?

LH: I would say that the response has been positive and encouraging. We were fortunate enough to have some people in the industry sharing and supporting the song. We are super grateful for all of the love our first song has received.

BBE: What about this release may have surprised you?

LH: We were very surprised by the positive response we received from some die-hard rock fans.

BBE: What is next for you after this release?

LH: Our second single, “Night To Remember” is scheduled to be released in early May. We start doing shows in early April and we are working to keep the calendar booked!

BBE: What is the best way for fans to stay up to date with your releases and connect with you?

LH: We keep our Linktree up to date with all the latest! All of our social media links are there as well as a link to Merch! https://linktr.ee/lostheartsband

BBE: Anything else you would like to add?

LH: I just want to thank everyone who has supported us thus far! We can’t wait to get out there and play music for you guys! Hope to see you in your city soon!
