Q and A with Lido Beach

Rock band, Lido Beach, are rolling after the release of their self-titled EP last month. BareBones Ent got the chance to sit down with the band to discuss their style, the EP release, and more! Take a look below and see what all Lido Beach had to say when they chatted with BareBones Ent.

BBE: I think you have a really interesting sound. How would you best describe your music to new listeners?

Lido Beach: Thank you. That’s what I am going for! Someone called it “Sad Weezer” the other day, and that doesn’t make me mad.

BBE: What do you think it is about your band that makes you stand out?

Lido Beach: I made an EP with five COMPLETELY different songs genre wise. I try hard to not try hard.

BBE: “Era One” was the first single off your upcoming EP, Lido Beach. How did you approach creating “Era One”?

Lido Beach: “Era One” was the second of three new songs that I wrote this year. It starts with a demented nursery rhyme and builds to something sad and seemingly drug induced, but I wrote it stone cold sober.

BBE: When in the process did you know this song would be a good single?

Lido Beach: Every time I write a song, I hope it can be considered a “single”. It’s the first track on the EP and I thought it was a good way to reintroduce myself.

BBE: How have fans reacted to the song?

Lido Beach: I haven’t heard anything bad… Yet!

BBE: Does “Era One” kind of fit the tone of the EP, or is each song pretty different?

Lido Beach: Each song is pretty different but 4/5 of it is about some form of loss, and this one sets the lyrical tone.

BBE: How long had you been working on Lido Beach?

Lido Beach: Lido Beach has been an official entity since I quit The City Drive in 2007. However, some songs are much older than that, including “Ten Things I Hate About Me,” and “Empty” from this EP.

BBE: What has you most excited for fans to experience when listening to the EP?

Lido Beach: I really want to hear everyone’s thoughts on the five songs front to back. Complimenting singles is one thing, but “The Lido Beach EP” is a body of work that I hope connects.

BBE: What is the best way for fans to reach out to you and stay up-to-date with the release?

Lido Beach: @lidobeachmusic on Instagram is a good one and so is @waldmgmt.

BBE: Anything else you would like to add?

Lido Beach: I appreciate the kind words more than you could know. Thank you for including me! Hope YOU connect with the other four songs!
