Bronx, NY band, Ronx, recently released their latest EP, Retrograde, further exploring their genre blending style. When listening to their music you can feel influences from pop punk, pop rock, to emo rap and more. Check out below what all the band had to say when they sat down with BareBones Ent!

BBE: What does Ronx mean to you?

Ronx: Ronx to all of us is a project where we not only can express our feelings and struggles but also inspire others to keep moving forward and not feel alone.

BBE: What do you think it is about the band that makes it special for fans?

Ronx: We just keep it real which a lot of today’s music is lacking, we’re not really interested in making commercial radio hit, we want to inspire the masses and new generation to fight all the bull that life hands us and be true to who they are.

BBE: Your band plays with a mixture of genres and creating songs that each feel different. How did this style come to you?

Ronx: We just suddenly one day had a realization that we weren’t tied to one style of music, we want to create music we enjoy ourselves and being more open to newer sounds really helped us grow as artists.

BBE: You recently released a new EP. How long have you been working on the EP?

Ronx: The title track “RETROGRADE” started as a single project around the summer of 2021, then we decided to add two more track to release a special EP for our Retro era.

BBE: How did the creation of Retrograde go for you?

Ronx: Miguel (singer/guitarist) produced the track and showed the band in the studio. The song was written within those first few hours originally starting with different lyrics then had a vibe change turning it into “Retrograde”.

BBE: What challenges did you face when working on the EP?

Ronx: Time and money is very delicate to us, sometimes it takes months for us to finish writing lyrics and then when we have the song complete it could take some more weeks or so to pay off the project. Being an independent band with no label support puts all the pressure on us to meet the due dates we set and paying for all the production/promo.

BBE: How have fans reacted to the release?

Ronx: There has been mixed reviews because of the 3 different styles on the EP but we’re happy to hear some people like the new sounds a lot which makes us believe we’re doing something right.

BBE: Now that the EP is out. What is next for you?

Ronx: More collabs coming this year! We’re currently writing our next album which is going to be our craziest release yet, stay tuned old and new Ronx sounds.

BBE: What is the best way for fans to reach out to you and keep up with Ronx?

Ronx: We generally reply on all of our media. The love and support we get on ig, Twitter and YouTube means the world to us so keep sending us your thoughts on those platforms!

BBE: Anything else you would like to add?

Ronx: We’re going even harder this year of 2022, we’ll be reaching new places and heights with our music we can’t even begin express how stoked we are this year! Our loyal fans are sure in for a treat.
