Toxic Positivity Review

The legendary rock band, The Used, have released their highly anticipated latest album Toxic Positivity. The album dropped on May 19th, and it has not been out of our playlist since the beginning of May. So what do we think of Toxic Positivity? Is it worth picking up?

The Used are back with their 10th studio album, and they are coming in as strong as ever. On an initial listen, I had a lot of fun with the album. The album takes you on a journey through discussions on mental health and overall wellbeing. Let’s briefly dive in a little deeper though on the album.

Toxic Positivity dives right in with the hard-hitting track “Worst I’ve Ever Been”. The song instantly draws you in and pumps you up for the album. This song will have you screaming a long in no time at all. Let’s jump down to a unique song on the album.

“I Hate Everybody” has a different feel than the other songs on the album. The song hits you with a fun and funky rhythm right out the gate. This is another song that will have you dancing and singing along to. This is one of those songs that I feel would be a blast to be in the crowd and heard it live. Keeping things moving along down the album.

I absolutely love the song “Cherry”. It is such a powerful song and feels so relatable for listeners. This is just one of those songs that you sing with your whole heart. I can’t recommend checking out this song enough.

“Top Of The World” brings such a strong song to the album. The song has an almost anthem or arena song feel to it. I could see this song being used in all types of formats. “Top Of The World” should be all over rock radio and already blowing up. Let’s jump to the end of the album.

Toxic Positivity finishes up with the song “Giving Up”. While the start of the song can lyrically sound heavy, but follow along with the upbeat vocal tones. The song is actually an uplifting and motivating song to keep pushing and not give up on yourself. “Giving Up” is such a strong and positive way to close out the album. I think that will resonate with fans and listeners, and leave them with a great taste in their mouth after listening.

Overall I really enjoyed Toxic Positivity. It is another strong, solid album from The Used. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that they would drop another banger of an album. They are fully in their bag with this album, while mixing things up along the way. The album is out now and can be picked up at Spotify/Apple/The Used Webstore (There is a sick glow in the dark vinyl I have my eyes one)
